Law by Law, Inmates Vote

If an inmate is abused by a guard, or another inmate, or if he is given only bologna and bread for dinner, or if he is placed in solitary for 2 weeks, he really has no recourse. "Their criminals, they deserve what they get." some might say, but they're not all criminals, and even if they were, we can't let our prisons turn into Andersonville. Long term inmates should be able to vote, because they have a perspective that the rest of us will never understand. If they can't vote, then they will never truly be represented in government. At this time, only two states have the courage and the wisdom to let inmates vote. (Inmates can vote in Canada.)
